A Christian man by the name of Nader Boulos Tannous was murdered in Homs, Syria on August 15, 2026. After his death, Israel, Greece and Cyprus were quick to denounce what they called an anti-Christian act. Several days later however, authorities in Homs said the suspect had admitted killing Tannous as part of a personal dispute going back to 2012.
